Emailing an Observation

An observation can be e-mailed to participants (teachers) from the Dashboard in either Draft or Published states. Consider notifying participants that the observation has been emailed, so that they may be on the lookout for it in their inbox.

In Draft state (not yet published):

  • From the Dashboard, click the checkbox next to the participant name, and clicking the email link.  Click yes in the confirmation box. This e-mails a copy of the observation. Supervisors will get a copy of this e-mail.

In Published state:

  • When an observation is published, it will be emailed to the participant automatically. This e-mail will include both the teacher sign-off link and a copy of the observation. Supervisors will not get a copy of this e-mail.
  • From the Dashboard, click the checkbox next to the participant name, and clicking the email link.  Click yes in the confirmation box. This will only include a copy of the observation. Supervisors will get a copy of this e-mail.

Resend Sign-Off Email

Supervisors can also resend a sign-off email to a teacher if they did not originally receive it.  From the Dashboard, click the Status icon (Published) or the Observation Type to open the published observation.

At the top of the observation, click the Resend sign-off link. This sends the link to the sign-off and a copy of the observation.

Printing an Observation

You can print observations from either the Dashboard or when viewing a specific observation.

From the Dashboard, select a participant by clicking the box next to the name prior to clicking the print icon.

Alternately, from within an observation and prior to clicking the Publish button, click the print icon.

The print button opens a PDF copy of the observation. The report will include the observation summary, development plan, notes, and scores from each Competency area.

Bring a copy of the observation to the post-observation conference to help guide the conversation.
